Effects of ausforming temperature on carbide-free bainite transformation and its correlation to the transformation plasticity strain in a medium C- Si-rich steel

Ausforming treatments at different temperatures were applied to a medium CSi rich carbide free bainitic steel, and the role of transformation plasticity on evolution microstructure is discussed. Three ausforming selected prior isothermal bainite 325 °C. Deformation was above start temperature, BS, (600 °C), below BS (400 temperature (325 °C). A combination high-resolution dilatometry, XRD, SEM, EBSD used investigate phase changes, evolution, variant selections for conditions. The results indicated that rate enhanced all deformation conditions compared with pure condition. did not modify morphology microstructure, while led an asymmetrical in specimen. alignment plates can be random or specific angle, depending supercooled austenite condition transformation. thickness ferrite refined about 100 nm cycle °C resulting hardness values 540 HV. Transformation strains increased increasing more intense two lower temperatures. Texture studies revealed both resulted almost texture, strong texture obtained when which attributed selection.
